What crazy treatments have I tried??? My parents have tried many things to try to help me be able to walk again. They took me to many places that they heard could help me; massages, herbs, medicines and even occultism. You would not be able to imagine some of the herbal drinks that I had. The worst one that I drank was a strong yellow color and when I drank it I had to prepare a snack to take away the taste.
Another bad experience that I will never forget happened a long time ago. I can't remember the place, just that it was in Bangkok. It was in a little old house with 5-6 people in there and there were statues of Indian deities all around. I lay on a mat and a woman danced in front of me. She danced like an Indian, but she looked Thai. She danced for a while, then she didn't seem satisfied and left the room and came back with a radio. She turned on Indian music and continued dancing. That made me want to laugh, but luckily I controlled myself before I did. She danced until it looked like something had taken control of her body. She talked to my Mom, but I can't remember what they talked about, and after that she turned to me and started to give me a massage. I'm not a therapist, but I could tell what she did to me was wrong, because she bent my body around like I was a gymnast. She continued the massage until I felt that I was going to die. When she had finished she asked me to promise to come back, and I agreed, but I was thinking that I would never return again, or if I did come I would have the police with me.
When I got back in the car I got a fever immediately, and when we arrived back home I saw there was blood in my catheter. I was so upset that no one could protect me from those crazy people, not even myself. I should have told my Mom to get them to stop 'cause she would listen to me. I don't understand why I let these crazy things happen to me, maybe it was because I was so young at that time.
Another treatment was steaming, lol. The person treating me this time was a guy. He used a frame covered in plastic to cover my body and left only my head exposed. He used herbs to steam me inside, and my Mom warned him to be careful because my skin was thin. It may blister my skin if it was too hot. He assured her it was okay as he treated lots of people before, but when I got out from the frame my body was covered in blisters. The man kept saying that no one had ever got blisters before. I don't know if my Mom paid him or not, but I hope not. Once I even ate tablets made form the gall bladder of bear...yuck!!! How can I eat that!!!!! But I always do as I am told, hehehe. Someone suggested that my parents boil some herbs that had ingredients such as toad skin and other weird things. Luckily no one was crazy enough to try to make me take it. I wouldn't have drunk it anyway.
Those are a few of my treatments. If I tell about all of my treatments that would become a big book. There are many fake people who like to make a living on other people's suffering. I don't blame my parents for attempting all these things, because if there is even a small chance to help me walk then they would be willing to try it for me. All of that is in the past now, and when I look back on it I just think of it as crazy experiences.
Now I have definitely stopped any treatment, and we think it is hopeless and not worth trying anymore. I have heard that there is some new treatment that could possibly help me walk, but it might too expensive for my family and there is no guarantee of success.
